  • Weight Gain
  • Weakened Immune System
  • High Blood Pressure and other serious health problems

Sleep gives our bodies the chance to recharge.  It gives us the chance to turn off from the world outside and rest.  At Mattress Warehouse, we’re serious about the quality of your sleep.  Check out thse 8 steps you can take toward better sleep, better health, and a better you!

  1. Stick to a schedule

When you go to bed around the same time each night, your body’s sleep-wake cycle will regulate and help you to sleep better. Mayo Clinic suggests even doing this on weekends! Getting your body used to a standard schedule can improve the quality (and length!) of your sleep.8 steps toward better sleep

  1.  Stress Less

We know.  Easier said than done, right?  Stress is a normal part of life, but when it starts to keep you up at night, we’ve got to reign it in!  Try a nightly routine of quieting your mind.  Do something relaxing and try not to worry about the things that await you when you wake.

  1.  Reduce your caffeine intake

Again, we know. Saying no to that coffee or energy drink when you really need it can be tough, but cutting back on the caffeine could make a huge difference in your sleep.  Who knows, maybe if you’re sleeping better at night, you won’t even need that morning trip to Starbucks!

  1.  Avoid Bedroom Distractions

It’s common to have a television in your bedroom.  Many even think it helps them sleep.  This has proven to be false.  The fewer distractions you have in the bedroom, the better off you will sleep. It is actually best to avoid all electronic devices such as your phone or tablet while in bed.

  1.  Create the best possible sleeping environment

Environment can play a huge role in how well you sleep.  Here’s a few great ways to create the optimal sleep environment

  1.  Work some exercise into your daily routine

The National Sleep Foundation recommends vigorous exercise daily, but we all know that isn’t always reality.  Some studies suggest that even moderate-light activity each day improves the quality of your sleep each night.

  1. Avoid napping during the day

As tempting as it can be to rest your eyes for a few minutes, napping during the day can really disrupt the much-needed sleep you should be getting at night.  Fight the urge to nap and stay on that sleep-wake cycle.

  1. Sleep on the right mattress

Earlier we mentioned your sleep environment and we’re saying it twice because it’s so important!  At Mattress Warehouse we want to make sure you’re sleeping on the mattress that gets you your best night’s sleep yet.  That’s why we have spent years developing our Rest Assured Sleep Fit System.  By investing 30 minutes with a sleep specialist, we will ensure you have the perfect mattress.
